You can't. Sometimes they're so strange you don't even know what they're talking about...

Pretty much the same things as people at home. It is a mistake to consider everyone ''abroad'' as being nice and friendly, it is a mistake to consider everyone ''abroad'' as being ill-minded.
There are some cultural differences, which may be related to a different idea of time and deadlines and social codes (the topics for small talk), but they are not so significant.
The problem is that very often misunderstandings occur because of the language - especially if the person speaks a foreign language to a certain extend, but not to a level as to be able to express various subtleties in attitude and sound nice and polite for instance.
My advice:
- do not go anywhere with any preconceptions (good or bad), try to keep an open mind;
- be careful with your money, but do not think that all people are up to cheat you. Still be careful;
- when somebody acts in a certain way, which you think is not proper, give it a minute and try to find out why;
- try to find out as much as you can on the country you are going to or the foreigner you are talking to comes from - religion, history, etc. Be interested;
- show respect to the people and culture where ever you go.

In abroad?? surely you mean 'abroad'. I take it you don't trust people abroad. Well, to French people, Britain is abroad.To German people America is abroad.Are you saying that no-one is to be trusted? What a sad place this world would be should that be so.

If you use a bag make sure its held on the far side of your body from the road. just use your common seance and have a nice time on holiday.

This reads like a question from Xenophobes R US - but I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that, no matter where you go, you have to be careful, mind your personal belongings in the street, and understand that hotels and restaurants are in business and for them to stay in business they have to give you what you pay for, that is good good and security, etc.

do no longer even attempt it. i understand many Lebanese (noticeably Shiites) who get married on an analogous time as youthful as 17, even whilst they have been residing interior the US or Canada their finished lives. yet despite social pressures there are, do no longer fall into it! you're too youthful to be getting married and situations have replaced! stay your existence first earlier you start up up thinking approximately marriage. Getting married at 17 or 18 is something our grandparents do, no longer our technology. It skill which you would be compelled to enhance up too quickly and your teenage toddlers would be wasted. i understand a woman residing in New Jersey and she or he have been given married whilst she replace into nevertheless at severe college, yet because of this dedication she made it skill that she isn't on the comparable point as her buddies and different friends. on an analogous time as they're all going out having relaxing or going clubbing, and so on, she isn't allowed to try this. that's not effective. in simple terms have relaxing and stay your teenage years first, then start up thinking approximately marriage. Getting married on your mid-20s is appropriate, yet no longer 17. you have different priorities to handle first at your age.
