I think the show has a well defined target demographic.

If you were to 'wise up' the show you would need to subtitle it for all the chavs.

It's an oxymoronic thought.

The two things don't go together.

"Intellectuals" with the ability to converse on "all manner of interesting topics" would never, never, ever BE "Big Brother."

However, if what you are trying to ask is if I would like for my GOVERNMENT to be intellectuals able to converse on all manner of interesting topics, then my answer is a hearty "YES."

Sure. The ratings would suck and it would get cancelled in 3 episodes because the general public wants bread and circuses.
