I have a family of 4, but two of them are toddler/preschoolers, so they count as one, right? I do laundry once a week. Usually takes 2 or 3 loads. My hubby is military though, so I have at least 10 work t-shirts and 5 pairs of running shorts to wash on top of his uniform and underwear.

I have a family of 4, but I have a 3yr. old/1 yr. old... I do laundry about 2 days a week... My husband has "work" clothes that he brings home once a week so a majority is bed linens/towels once a week, and my clothes/kids clothes once a week.. So about 3-4 loads a week depending on the sized loads.. If you think you maybe doing too much laundry- have your husband launder his work clothes if possible once a week. My husband has 3-4 work uniforms he rotates and then on Fri brings them home and I wash everything, it's greasy all together in one load w/ regular detergent/ 1c. of baking soda added to the wash.. It seems to help get the grease out better.. I use baking soda in all my wash water.. It's cheap and it helps remove stains from my kids clothes as well... .Good luck

I live in a family of five and I do laundry almost everyday. I guess it kind of depends on how much u want to do landry and if you want dirty clothes laying around or not. Four a familie of three 2-3 days a week sounds reasonable. But if your worried about saving water try buying a High Efficenticy washer it saves on water and deterganet.

I generally wash the families laundry about twice a week depending on the amount of dirt and clothes needed for their work or school week, rarely I will do a third load as this is too expensive to do this on a weekly basis, generally twice a week is adequate. Good Luck !

I have a family of three, and my hubby does dirty work.. I do at least a load a day. It depends sometimes I do two loads a day.. I hate having to do 10 loads a week, so I keep it caught up all the time.

With the 3 of us(me, 2-yr old daughter, and him), I'd figure we do about 7 loads a week or so. I know I do 3 or 4 of mine and my daughter's clothes. My boyfriend gets fairly dirty at work, and he does his own, but I know he does 1 load of work clothes and 1 load of his other clothes every week. Then one of us does a load of towels, and every other week is a load of bedding.

We are a family of 4 with a toddler and an infant. We have to do an average of a load and a half a day.

Two adults (office jobs) and one teenager. One of the adults does lots of yardwork and gets dirty. We also have a dog and nine (yes, nine) cats. And two hermit crabs, but they don't make messs. I wash two loads of laundry a day.

Most of my clothes go outside on a clothesline; when they're dry I "fluff" them in the dryer for a few minutes. They smell great and last longer. There's reason for all that lint in your dryer trap--it's coming from your clothes' fabric.
