I'm having brake problems with my Megane coupe. The brakes are going solid erratically and the ABS kicks in. It's been suggested that I remove the fuse for the ABS to switch it off. Is this a safe idea? What else might it affect? Thanx, G.

Why don't you visit the dealership and have the ABS codes checked first. You can have a bad sensor or just a loose ground. If the Car has dynamic control or VDC the steering wheel angle sensor my just need adjusting.

Not safe. Get it fixed. I can cause breaks to not fully engage, and during a hard stop, the wheels can lock up without warning.
