I have a 2002 Pontiac Montana, 3.4 liter, with a diagnosed "pin hole in gasket". The mechanic stated a "quick fix" coud be "alumiseal" which wil run thru the system and hopefully sea the "pin hole." He put a half a container in and I added 1 whole container later. I drove the vehicle for approx 20 minutes-no overheating and let it run by itself for another 25 minutes-no overheating. However, when I shut te vehicle off, I got the "hissing" and could again see the antifreeze coming out of the "pin hole". The addition of the alumiseal did make a difference. My question is can I try to use another small can of alumiseal. Will it cause any damage to the system or anything else? The "pin hole" is located on the top part of the engine I believe he referred to as the "intake manifold and or gasket area". I need your advise. We dont have the money at this time to properly fix the problem. Need your advise. Thanks

that stuff is just a temporary fix, you need to get it fixed right before the car strands you someplace where you don't want to be stranded, that stuff just plugs up your cooling system if you put too much of it in, you have already put too much in now.

That mechanic does not like your motor or your money. STOP trying to seal a intake manifold leak with sealer. Get it repaired correctly and expensive as it seems it is less than a new 3.4 liter engine if you over heat it or water starts running into the manifold valley and mixes with the engine oil. Check and ask Pontiac if there was a recall on your Montana manifold. Or if they will extend a Good will repair for your problem. Still don't wait long really bad things could happen

Coolant will not come out of an intake manifold. Sounds like the head gasket or a water pump gasket. It is possible to use too much, but just putting that stuff in the engine really is not good. Get the gasket fixed and get a good flush on the cooling system too. You can also mess up your heater core and water pump too.

Yes you can use too much, eventually your radiator would become less efficient along with your heater core and water pump, get your cooling system flushed and get the gasket repaired or you'll just have bigger headaches later.

You could put to much in look at it this way if it is sealing the hole what is the rest of the can sealing. You rarely can repair a car out of a can.
