Pitchers do need it, actually. Steroids help pitchers with recovery time, IE a 45 year old guy not being totally wasted after a start...plus I'm sure they could have helped Roger with all that time in the gym. It is insane that a guy his age still pitches like he can, and I would suspect that he has done steroids, or some other performance enhancer in the past 10 years at least.

Yes I do. He was washed up with the Red Sox and so they didn't re-sign him. So he goes to the Blue Jays and wins a Cy Young. The guy's like 60 and still pitching. Seriously, yes I think he did. But pitchers aren't as scrutinized as hitters so it's not as big of a deal. Also Clemens isn't close to breaking any records, like Nolan Ryan's strikeout or no-hitter records, etc. and Barroids is. And Clemens doesn't appear to be a jerk like Barroids.

Oh, sure. First Barry Bonds then Roger Clemens? Who's next Alex Rodriguez!? You people need to stop accusing people of taking steroids! Oh, and I don't think that Roger Clemens took steroids if you didn't get my message.

it's funny how some of you say Bonds took them and then can say Roger didn't. Last year when Jason Grimsley got busted there was a list that got leaked with others that had been sent the same stuff. Guess who was on that list. ROGER !!!! Now I think that like Bonds they have to prove something 1st. And before you all give me a thumbs down read the source.

It certainly could be possible just as any other player in MLB could have as well. The problem with all of this is that none of us know and it would be pure speculation. What we do know is that no information has ever been released, by the company retained by MLB and the players union to conduct the drug testing, indicating that Clemens ever tested positive for any of the (53) banned drugs.

It's funny to read all these answers and not a one said a definitive "yes". I will be the first one then--HELL YES he's taken steroids, as have hundreds of other players that never get brought up like Todd Helton, Jeff Bagwell, Brian Giles, and I could go on listing players for an hour!

Yes, Bonds is the poster boy for 'roids, but wake up people, he's only a blip on the radar screen when you look at how widespread steroid/HGH use is in baseball.

It's amazing because Clemens is so popular, that no one wants to believe it, but having met the guy in person, no one can get that big naturally.

Yes I do. Why would he not have. What we have learned over the past few years is that Ken Caminti was telling the truth: a very large portion of players were taking them. Also, more pitchers than hitters as evidenced by the guys who have been caught.

I doubt it, but anything's possible and pitchers have been known to use them in the past. Roger, though, just doesn't seem like the type to go that route.

No, he didn't take steroids. Why do people keep assuming that? The report on Clemens contained significant inaccuracies. Therefore, he didn't take steroids.

Who cares? Get beyond the issue already! I don't care about any player who may or may not have. By the way: He's my all time favorite pitcher.
