I am going with 3 friends, we will be staying for two nights. It's the first time in Vegas for all of us. The 2 nights are costing about 200 total for a room with 2 beds (we will share or use sleeping bags). I am concerned that bally's isnt so special, and for a first time in vegas its gonna kill the experience. any ideas?

Bally's is actually a very good choice for a first trip to Vegas.

The rooms are pretty nice, many were recently remodeled and even those that havent are still decent. They are also among the largest standard rooms in Vegas which will be nice having 3 of you in the room.

They have a decent collection of restaurants including the best sunday brunch in vegas. It is directly connected to Paris so all of those restaurants are right there including a very good buffet.

The best thing about Bally's though is its location. It is center strip, directly across the strip from Bellagio and catty corner to Caesars with 7 or 8 other places including Venetian and Mirage a short walk away. It also have a monorail station so you can get to other parts of the strip pretty easy as well.

I have some room pics from our last stay on my site at...

And maps of the casino at...

I hope this helps and have a great first trip!

I'm not sure of your age but I think that always matters when choosing where to stay in Vegas. I am 33 and have stayed at Bally's a number of times since my mid-20's.

Admittedly, I have only eaten maybe one restaurant at Bally's (Italian I think) but I've eaten at a few in Paris (attached to Ballys) and all have been good but expensive. The minimum wagers at Bally's are about middle of the road for Vegas. Usually not quite as high as Venetian or Bellagio but not one of the cheapos either.

The best part about staying at Bally's is your proximity to everything anyone would want to do in Vegas. Shopping, the other casinos, clubs, restaurants....Bally's is at the heart of it all. I think you've picked a fine place.

As I've posted on this board before though, I would stay directly behind Bally's at the Tuscany and save $100 per night and have a nicer room. The Tuscany is, again, located directly behind Bally's and is an all suites hotel. The rooms are very generous in size and the restaurant has great food. If I was planning on hanging out in my hotel a lot I would not choose Tuscany because their casino, while acceptable, is not very busy and therefore not very fun. I stay here because of price, location, rooms, and cleanliness.

Bally's is decent. For a first-timer, anyplace on the strip is special. Location-wise, Bally's can't be beat- it's right in the middle of everything. If you want a really nice room- I'd look for a room at Venetian at an off-peak time (Sun - Thurs) - really big, fancy rooms, with couches and everything, and they have some pretty good deals during off peak times. might cost a little more than Bally's, but worth it, especially with 3 guys.

I have not stayed at Bally's but I have been told that it is ok. Besides you will not be spending a lot of time in your room and if this is the first time in Vegas, Ballys will do just fine.

There is a website called tripadvisor.com that will give you some more info about the hotel and rooms as well as reviews by people that actually stayed there.

I've been to Vegas twice, and both times, I stayed at Bally's. I like Bally's. It's nice, affordable, and in the middle of the Strip. No complaints here.

You might want to check on Vegas.com. I have searched there in the past when looking up info about hotel rooms. Good luck!! :-)

Excuse me but you obviously can't afford "Special" Bally's is fine and in a good location. "Special " isn't cheap!
