I collect business cards. Currently own over 1000.

Raw Opals.It would probably be fun getting them cut and then trading them for money too.Black opals are worth a lot of money if you can find them. Take a look at the site below for an idea what those things are worth if you manage to dig some up.That stuff is awesome.You do not need to collect very many to get rich.

You could collect banknotes (world paper money), because that's what I collect and that gives me a lot of satisfaction as I can enjoy the educational benefits of worldwide currency banknotes, and also exchange or trade them with collectors, buy them from dealers (sometimes) or from shops and I can also sell them decades later for more money to other collectors or even to investors. I have a collection of 17 thousand + different world banknotes and I am still adding more to it. I used to collect stamps, but I find larger-than-stamps banknotes to be more rewarding in experience than stamps or postcards.

I collect unusual buttons. Some of them are really strange, and some are quite beautiful. I have some that are well over 100 years old.
My friend has matchbook collection, and I've thought that would be a fun thing to collect. She gets them when she travels and must have them from over 2,000 bars and hotels.

Lead soldiers. Buttons or insignia off uniforms of famous military units such as the Foreign Legion or Civil War regiments.

Years ago, I used to collect small rocks I found more special in colour, shape. How I liked that, lol.
