Proving your puppy is vet checked, wormed, flea treated, and inoculated, and doesn't do it "business" inside then there isn't much risk, providing you follow normal hygiene like hand washing after handling him.
I had a puppy when I had my first child, and have had dogs when I had the other 3 and none came to harm for having the pets around.

Good God, i hope not... i'm a dog groomer and am 32 weeks pregnant. i have dogs of my own, too.

just take all of the necessary precautions -- vet check ups, deworm, treat for fleas & ticks, and as far as picking up any poop -- see if there is someone else who could do that for you. don't let the puppy lick your mouth.
