Why? How would you expect him/her to behave? Would you prefer to be consoled or to be "ignored" until you calm down by yourself? I'm particularly interessed in men's opinions...

I would prefer a woman. I have been attacked by a dog in a car park. It jumped through the window of the car it was in and latched onto me when I was getting my baby out of the car. I started crying and yelling and shortly was surrounded by women all being so caring to me and stayed with me until I felt safe enough to leave. I am not a man though, men probably dont like being comforted ...

A man. It's repulsive when someone tries to comfort you or just stares sympathetically at you. Most likely, a woman would do this. I could expect a man to be quiet and not stare me straight in the eye. I would rather be ignored a hundred times more than consoled. It's so much easier and less dramatic this way, and I would be shamed less.

Of course, I stereotype. However, I see truth in these.

well, i would most probably want this person to be a woman. cos im a woman so naturally i want it that way. i can really relate to them and not feel shy.unless the man is my husband, that is a different topic.husbands r suppose to comfort you & be there 4 you whenever you needed him.other than that,i will feel quite shy & uneasy if i just cry in front of a guy who's not my hubby! (or even my boyfriend)

It would have to be a man (preforably the one who made me cry) because it would make him confused what to do and I' like to see what he does.....does he walk out of the room? Does he stay and comfort me? Or does he do both, come back, then start to panic? Haha lol sorry guys!

I would actually prefer to be comforted. Not becasue I like the attention.... I just like having someone with me, because I hate my own space!

neither unless it's a death and even then I'd prefer to be left alone don't even like those emotions alone as a matter of fact
even the maudlin feelings of nostalgia should be held to a minimum . later this is started to bother me just thinking about it ....if you ask me most people prefer not to exist when comes to such things ; thats the male point of view to me. peace out

somewhere in my mid thirties, i cant remember when last i cried. However, i must, i prefer in the presence of my wife and i'll like her to console me.

The truth though is i dont see myself crying anytime soon, so until then...

I DON'T KNOW, ACTUALLY. UMMMM. IF U CRY INFRONT OF A GIRL, THEN THEY CAN HELP U THROUGH IT AND CONSOLE YOU. BUT IF YOU CRY INFRONT OF A GUY THEN YOU GET A LIL HUG AND SOME "IT'LL BE OKAY's". YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN. BUT, I WOULD HAVE TO SAY GUYS. I KNOW I'M A GIRL AND YOU ONLY WANTED GUYS, BUT I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF!!

I wouldn't do it anyway, but if I did I'd prefer it to be a woman.
