First of all, you need to spell it correctly. It's jewelry. The way you have spelled it, it's a hateful anti-semetic word.

Now to the business part, you really need to start doing it as a hobby for a long time, then when you have gotten really good and invent your own designs, you can start offering it for sale.

People make things for years before becoming good enough at it to sell any

Your local craft store will have tools, supplies and books to get you started on your new hobby.

Depends on what you want to make. If you want to stick to bead and wire jewelry, you should be able to get started for a minimum of $100 (depending on the quality of tools, beads, wire, and stringing supplies you choose--higher end supplies will probably run you at least twice that). If you want to make serious metal jewelry, you will need extensive training and a good $1500.
For the beading stuff, here's some recommendations:
--tools
round nose, chain nose, and flat pliers
a good pair of nippers--get 'em at a hardware store or get some nice flush cutters from a jewelry supplier (the craft store nippers suck)
scissors
calipers (for sizing beads--you can go cheap on these)
beading needles
needle threader (optional)
--beads
whatever strikes your fancy, as long as they go together
--findings/stringing supplies
earring hooks
clasps (I prefer toggles and lobster claws)
knot covers
silk thread (griffin #4 is my favorite size
memory wire (for cheap quickie necklaces)
head pins
wire, asst'd gauges (I like to use sterling--most beads will fit on 20-24g)
tiger tail wire
Shopping advice: generally speaking avoid Wal-Mart. sometimes they have some okay beads, and I'll admit, my favorite pair of pliers came from there, but most of their stuff is junk. Michael's is okay, but your local bead store will have the nicest assortment of beads. Also check out Fire Mountain Gems online.

For tools and ideas for jewelry making, check out craft stores and bead shops in your area, and the people at the stores can answer questions and offer suggestions. You could probably find some magazines and books with step-by-step reference guides.

You could check out www.etsy.com and have a store on that website.

You could also call your area's chamber of commerce and find out about local craft fairs where you could set up a booth and sell your stuff.

Good luck!
