Can I change my computer processor from Pentium 4 to Core 2 Duo ???

You will need to check your motherboard's specifications sheet to determine this. Core 2 Duo's are a 775 pin chipset, it is possible that your motherboard is a 462 pin. If it is also a 775 pin motherboard, you might still need to upgrade the boards bios to recognize the new processors. The specification sheet will tell you what processors your motherboard can support. I hope this helps.

There is two types of microprocessors in Pentium 4 first is pin and second is pinless.
It is depends on your motherboard. if you are using Intel 845 series and family series of motherboard chipset than your microprocessor should be with pin on 478 socket.
If you are using 865 and 915, 945 and same family series of motherboard with dual band channel and 775i socket on motherboard. You can use Core 2 Duo.

It depends on your motherboard's BIOS, whether it even recognizes Core2 Duo at all. C2Duo only came out 2nd quarter last year. If your BIOS is 2005 or early 2006, it is very likely that it does NOT support C2D.
