Most of the times,students misuse this concept and divide up in groups based on party.They enjoy unfair priviledges and the unity amongst them is heavily disrupted.Unions should engage in social welfare,adult education,protest against social evils and the lot.But this feature is missing amongst us.

Student Union should not be linked with politics. Students who voice their opinion through their own Union is more effective. A Union should be a favorable situation between Principal and Student. Try putting a teacher as a member of the Union. It will make a big difference. A teacher is a link between the Student and Principal. Best of Luck!

They are meant to study.. Why to Union.... It is a time waste.. What is its Idea of student union... I didn't got any value idea behind it... It is a vague concept... Now a days educational institutes are grown much to make their pupils cleaver... It is not at all necessary rather it is their waste of time in thinking that they are loosing something by going to schools and colleges... If you discuss about sport unions... they are not the unions they are the organizing of students of that college/school ... for a temporary period to do some thing special events .. they are not permanent n they must not be permanent..
I didn't see any thing which any one of the union doing good.... The credit is goes to the institute and they had to effort from their institutes as a representatives but not as a union...

The student unions are good as they highlight the problems being faced in colleges with managment so that proper solution could be found. The management is kept in check if any unfair is practised in administration. Healthy politics practised in college make the students grow as responsible citizens. Injustice done to a student is represented properly to the management.

You shouldn't concern yourself with anything in this category. Seriously. If we were standing next to each other and you said, "Should student union is good or bad in colleges?", I'd punch you in the mouth.

one thing they had at the University I go to I'm a non traditional student at the Baptist Student Union they had a building that was close to the dorms and also had a free lunch and a mid week service for the students and they played games and had dinners for the students.

Student Unions in Colleges are good provided the intentions are good.
If it is for politicising and groupism, it is bad as well. Students stand united for good reasons and causes pertaining to their studies will certainly be ideal and their unionisation should be purposeful !
