Growing up I had a friend named Amarinthia (pronounced Am-uh-rin-thee-a) She always got tons of compliments and you can shorten the name to Amy or Thia. Maybe even Mara or Mary.
I have no idea what this name means, though. My friend's full name was Amarinthia Viviano. (her father was hispanic, hence the middle name)

An unusual boy name with a nice meaning......that's tough.
Jensen-son of Johannes (soso to meaning; do like the name)
Galon-wave of strength
Ezra-aid (again, meaning is not so great; name is unusual)
Asher-fortunate or blessed
Jasper-treasurer
Theodor-gift from God
Valentino-healthy, strong

I've never checked into meanings, but the most unique I've heard recently is Gage for a boy and Kaydra for a girl. I liked Kaydra, it's like Kendra, but prettier and not so ****-star sounding.

How about Sanghamitra! I don't know what it means, but Emperor Ashoka's daughter was named so - and she went to Sri Lanka to spread the Buddhist religion.

My cousin named her daughter (my god daughter) Alianna (sounded like ollieonna) - I think it is the prettiest name I've ever heard - she is almost 2 now and everyone calls her Ali (sounded like ollie not alley) I think it too is very pretty.
