Hi, I was wondering what times during the day you can drive a motorcycle when you only have your California permit. It says "at night" but is there a set time for this or is it just when it gets dark outside?

You can ride daylight hours only - 1/2 hour after sunrise to 1/2 hour before sunset.

Actually, the second answer is almost correct, but he has it backwards. It is one half hour BEFORE sunrise and one half hour AFTER sunset. As each day changes, you'll need to look at an almanac or watch the TV news. Wouldn't it be much easier to just take the test and get a real license?

I don't know specifically about California but usualy night means one half hour before sunset to one half hour after sunrise. Which means you don't have to worry what time it is!
