Yes, he can be, however he recognizes and acknowledges his own short comings and his ego is tempered by his kindness and chivalry.

Simple truth is that some people have to be a little arrogant. I know that I certainly am. I couldn't perform my profession properly unless I was. I don't know what it is that Jack B. does to make his living... but whatever it is is none of my business. My guess is that he is a male stripper at Porkies in Kings Cross (Sydney) at night, and by day he is Director of the Regional Art gallery... both of these vocations require a man to have supreme confidence in himself, in his appearance and in his own opinion.
In my opinion, he need not make apologies for illustrating the same attributes in his Avitar character on Y!A.
Besides, did I tell you I like his Avitar? He's HAWT.

I think the jerk is to cover up the good insides that are there... I would image that someone as "gorgeous" as Jack B would have try to hide the goodness, so that not everyone will want a piece of him! I think he's rather smart and a good guy! :)

Insecurity breeds jealousy,
Being a trifle secure myself, I don't have problem with it.
Artistic souls are just a trifle different from the rest of the world.
They are sensitive and see what others miss.

Anyway, I'm not the greatest looking asian guy from where I am from. But I had friends who are models and in the entertainment business that says that I am good looking enough to be one of them. I don't want to be one of them, but it is something that when guys knows that they have it, they flaunt it. If a girl can do that, why can't a guy? Most guys nowadays are like girls. They rather have good soft looking skin then rugged and stubbed face. Ain't I right? There's no harm for a guy to think he is good looking and also to look the part when he wants to.

I think that Jack B. has a tendency to underrate himself.
He has a lot more going for himself, than just a great smile, and a pretty face.

Having read several of Jack B.'s posts I have found him to be cordial, thoughtful, and witty.
As far as his having a "higher opinion of himself" is concerned,...
... I think I can honestly say that Jack B. is no more of an egoist than I am.

Oprah has a point, however you are right when you say he SAYS he has a high opinion of himself.
when you get to know that man, however, you will soon see how sweet, kind and generous he is.
