I am setting up a two foot fish tank and was hoping someone could tell me the wattage needed to successfully heat the tank. Thanks if you can answer this!!!

You didn't specify the third dimension, and it's needed to figure the number of gallons or liters to get a properly sized heater. You can use this calculator to figure out how much water the tank will hold from the measurements: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/converter/volume-calculator.php

A heater should be 5 watts for every gallon of tank volume, unless you need to heat the water more than 10 degrees above the room temperature. If this is your case, figure the correct size, then go up one step in wattage (that is, if your correct size is a 50 watt, use a 100).

Salt or fresh what kind if fish plants or plastic how many critters what kind of filter but a small low wat or sometimes a light will do what is the climate you live in oh a fish store has the info for you but the variables are a wide as the selections of critters you want to make a home for
