Addiction is now narrowly defined as "uncontrolled, compulsive use". The concept of practicality is only a perception as it is purely subjective to the individual.

Nymphomania(pretty sure thats how its spelled) is a term for some one addicted to sex. Sex is really good for the human body, considering theres not multiple partners or protection is used everytime, because it releases so many different things into the body. endorphins, adrenaline, and so on. It releases stress, gets ridda headaches, and blah blah blah....some people are addicted for other reasons though..they grew up with it, alot of pornstars literally have it i forget the term but they were abused as kids, so sex to them is just second nature. Some people are addicted to it because it makes them feel wanted, or loved, and chased, and some people use it as a tool. it all just kinda depends i guess it can be destructive if its just tossed out like a peica gum, or a 100 dollar bill
Fiddlin withit is from what i hear just a healthy part of human nature. Some people do it frequently, some dont. I dont think its consider an addiction were you need to go to rehab for or nothin...hah ah imagine that...(hey what are you in for"...uh i am a frequent masturbater"

I watch tv and that has very little practical use. It all depends on how often they do it and how much desire is there in the process. Then it can be linked to addiction.

Usually, an addiction refers to something that interferes with your life. For example, if you frequently masturbate or have sex, it wouldn't be considered an addiction unless it was interfering with your job, relationships, etc.
