Two things I can think of...
1. Screen is going out.
2. Video card on computer is going out.

Hook computer up to different screen and see if it still flashes.

Cirric is on the right track.

This is typical of a loose or damaged video cable. Unplug the video cable from the computer's video connection and check if there are any bent pins. There should be 15 pins, 3 rows of 5. If there are bent pins. Try to straighten them, but be very careful as you can braek them off.

If the video cable can be unplugged from the monitor, repeat the same procedure as above to the other end of the video cable..

When you plug the video cable in, do not force it. If it is difficult, check the pins again; one or more may be mis-aligned.

If this does not correct the problem and the video cable can be unplugged from the monitor, get a replacement cable. If you purchase one make sure you can return it in case this does not correct the problem.

If non of the above corrects the problem, then it is either your monitor or video card.

If you have another monitor that works, connect it to the computer with it's own video cable.
If it works goto the next paragraph.
If it does not work, it is your video card.

Connect it with the video cable from the other monitor if possible.
If it works, It was your monitor.
If it does not work, the video cable is defective.

I hope this helps. This is a typical trouble procedure.

Good Luck.

Hi. That is usually a sign of a loose cable. Unplug from both ends and replug, and try again. Can also be caused by a poorly seated or failing graphics card

See if it's plugged in all the way. Might be going out. My mouse was flashing and disappearing, the plug was just slipping.
