PUF is PolyUrethane Foam. The term applies to several products, including a type of rigid foam board and wet foam that is either sprayed on or injected into the area to be insulated. Most of the canned foam insulation is PUF.

This is a new insulation that a lot of contractors are now using to insulate new homes and difficult reinsulation of old homes. It is less labour and probably more cost efficient as no vapour barrier is required and it gets into every little hole.
