During the strike / lockout of the late 80s when the league brought in replacement players some teams ran option packages with moderate success. But I do not think you will see an option as part of a teams bread and butter offense for these reasons:
1) Defenses can scout it and scheme against it too easily in the NFL. In college practice time and other resources limit a team's ability in this regard (though not so much anymore with improved video technology).
2) The QB is too valuable to the team to allow him to run the ball that many times.
3) It won't sell tickets. Nobody wants to watch a pro game with 300 yards rushing and 50 yards passing unless it's dictated by the weather.

No, maybe a modified version eventually or a few plays thrown in here and there, but never an offense dedicated to the Option. The NFL game is too fast. Just remember how much importance NFL combines put on 40 speeds, that means players are at top speeds every play.
Another reason why the Option won't enter into the NFL is the value of a QB. QB's are protected not only by officials but also by coaches and owners. Look at Vick, due to the fact he runs the majority of the time, everyone questions how long he'll last. I Just don't see it.

Option is too gimmicky to work in the NFL. You see it once in a while as a play but to run it the whole time just doesnt work. There is just too much speed in the NFL. Also even at the College level, you never see a team run the option get in contention for the national championship. Thats cause teams that run it, when they run into a good defense, the good defense may struggle for a half to adjust, but they are usually able to shut it down with some adjustments. IF they can do that at the college level imagine how quickly a pro defense can break it down.

NFL teams have tried it. The Vikings ran it with Culpepper when Mike Tice first stepped in, and if I recall, the Eagles called it a time or two with Randall Cunningham.

Generally, it doesn't work in the NFL. The linebackers are too fast and don't bite as hard on the fakes. Plus NFL coaches don't like the risk of a lateral (if the RB drops it, the D has a very good chance of coming up with it because that's where their momentum is going).

No I dont see any NFL team ever running an option type offense. The defensive speed in the NFL is to fast. That said that does not mean from time to time an option play will never be tried.

This is a good question..I have always wondered what would happen if an NFL team were to try the option. I can only guess that at the NFL level, it is not really a viable play due to the speed of the defenses, plus you would be putting the ball at risk for a turnover everytime the QB pitched it. I would like to see someone instill it just to see what would happen...but I don't think anyone will. It also sets up the QB for potential big hits..coaches don't much care for that.

Probably not. Even if a team ran it the fans wouldn't like it. Most NFL fans want a 60 yard pass to glory rather than a more consistent 8 yards at a whack. I agree Vick was probably our best bet to see any option offense. Now we'll probably never see it.

No. Defenses in the NFL are too fast. When some of the linebackers can run as fast as your RB, the option is a pointless play.

Never, the NFL D is too fast for the option. QBs would take too many big hits. With the money these guys have invested in them owners wouldnt let it happen.

Sorry bro, yet no longer liking it. I quite do no longer think of the Patriots need to be up there. If something the Falcons could be of their spot. they have regarded as sturdy, if not extra acceptable than New England. I additionally think of the 49ers deserve a niche, perhaps the place the Eagles are. they have made a brilliant turn around this season, and the Eagles have not performed a ton of issues to electrify me. relax is all candy.
