Ok...I was planing of getting a boob job sometime in the future. I knew it had dangerous side effects but as I started reading more on yahoo answers about what has happened to some girls because they get a boob job done I got a bit more scared. Ok, so like one of the consequences is getting breast cancer, I was wondering if I do it, like in my family from my mom's side they have died from cancer, I waned to know if I would have more possibilities of getting cancer because of the boob job. Well if anybody knows anything it'll be nice to hear it. :)

i have been doing research on breast implants for a couple of years now to make sure i choose the right doctor. there is no evidence that breast implants cause cancer. every female 25 and up in my family (including my grandmothers) have implants and they are in terrific health. your chances of cancer have to do with your family history and your health habits. there is a book that i have found that has answers to just about any question you could have dealing with getting implants. it is called "the best breast" by Dr John Tebbetts. he is a top plastic surgeon out of Dallas, TX and found a very non-invasive way to do breast augmentation. 90% of patients are up and shopping the next day and 98% have absolutely no bruising. his toll-free number is 800-837-2530... the ladies at the office can answer any questions you have, and he has a lot of information online. i called for the first time today and was given so much good information.

dont believe rumors you hear, talk to your doctor, they are the only ones who are qualified to give health advice.

I don't believe there is any impact on your likelihood of breast cancer from a boob job. As for the aesthetics, my girlfriend just had on and she loves it. So do I, needless to say. It takes time to recover but after three weeks, she's great. She says the implants still don't feel like they are part of her yet but become more part of her each day. She went from a small B to a DD and has a fabulous bubble butt. It gave her the balance in her figure she sought.

My best advice would be for you to get the genetic marker test for breast cancer. If you don't have it, you can stop worrying about it and if you do, you need to follow your doctor's instructions to the letter on mammograms et al.

I don't know if the breast implants cause cancer. Some people claim a lot of side effects from burst silicone implants, but most implants these days are saline, which is just salt water and will not damage the DNA in your cells.

However, breast implants can make it harder to detect breast cancer. Since you have a family history, there is a chance you will develop cancer, and an implant would make it harder to see the tumor in a mammogram, especially in the small early stage when it is easily treated.

I am sorry to tell you that because you have a history of cancer you may develop cancer with or without breast enhancement. Why would you risk a sloppy job and risk losing what breasts that you do have. I also have to say that I am a 40 DD and I can not stand having such large breasts. For my size I am a large girl I wish I had 38C. Besides large breasts give you back and neck problems.
