I've searched it up as well. I mostly come to French websites, so maybe it's origin is French?

Yes! That name does happen to be French. Many famous people that were French or from France had that name.

Elessa Vavon JaLeilon-Famous French poet lived around the 1800's

Elessa Vavon Deisole-Semi-Famous Soprano Opera singer that was born in France in the year 1835. She starred in many French plays until she was 14 when she, her mother (pronounced mere in French), father (pronounced pere in French), and her 9 other brother and sisters moved to Italy. At the age of 15 she began her play starring years again until 18 when she married Peirre J. Giovaldesoe ,20, who had also moved from France. At 19 1/2 she gave birth to four children, 2 boys and 2 girls, and at 20 began singing in small parts in Operas. At age 22 1/2, then with 7 children, she starred in 4 major hits that really set off in her career. By the time she was 34, Peirre being 35, she had starred in 54 greatly appreciated plays/opera's. By then she and her husband had 13 children. She stopped at an amazing count of !27! children at age 52. Her husband died at age 72 while she died at age 79, seven years later. She was able to see alll her children get married, so did her husband, and see almost all grandchildren of hers. She had all together 86 grandchildren. I love and admire her!!!!

I think it's a beautiful name that resembles a lot and is a strong graceful name. If you want to name your girl that I would so go for it and even if it's your girl name already I absolutely love it!!!

It sounds like the stage name for an exotic dancer. I don't dislike it however, it has a certain ring to it.
