How to pronounciate Ms.?

Mr or Mrs can be pronounciated in a defined manner. But how about Ms.?

Ok, I'm gonna go for the less obvious and say that you don't PRONUNCIATE anything.

You PRONOUNCE it.

And you pronounce it "mizz".

It is definitely Mizz. Miss is another title, pronounced exactly as it looks. The difference is that Ms. is used in a situation when you don't know or don't want to identify a woman's marital status, as in a business situation where it is nobody's business if she is married or not. Miss, which is rarely used any more these days, was a term only used for an unmarried woman to differentiate it from Mrs. Since most people who go by Ms. take some offense at being called Miss, please don't pronounce Ms. as Miss!

Ms. is pronounced 'Miss'. The title is used when you don't know if the woman you are talking about is married or not, as well as for an unmarried woman.

So now that I got to thinking about it...why is Mrs. pronounces 'Misses' when there is no 'r' in 'Misses'. It looks like it should be 'misters'.

I've always heard it as "MIZ" and it was started during the early feminist movement when women didn't want to be associated as a Miss all their lives. Since they weren't married, a word had to be made-up to be halfway in the middle. "Mrs." is an abbreviation for "MISTRESS".
