Mean = the mean is the sum of all the number u have, divided by the number of numbers u have. E.g : 4 , 7 , 6 , 9 , 12 , 3
5 + 7 + 6 + 9 +12 + 3 = 42 (sum)
42/6 (6 is the number of numbers u have) = 7
So the mean is 7.

Median = the median is the middle number in a set of data.
E.g : 4 , 7 , 6 , 1 , 2 , 9 , 13
First, u need to rearrange all the numbers from lowest to highest,
1 , 2 , 4 , 6 , 7 , 9 , 13
Then u find the middle number, in this case it's 6.
So the median is 6.

Hope it helps..

I am going into 7th grade and am good in math, so this is really fresh, so trust me. Mean is the same as average.

Finding the mean:
1. Add all values in a set of data
2. Average out total by number of addends
3.Answer is the mean. (Use a calculator for better results)

Median: the middle number in a set of data
Finding the median:
1. Line up all the numbers in a set of data by lowest to highest.
2. Cross of one of the numbers on each side, one at a time, until you reach the midle 1 or 2 numbers.
3. If there is number remaining, that is your median.
3a. If there are 2 numbers remaining, find the mean of the 2 numbers(Described earlier). The answer will be your median.

Mode: The most frequent number in a se of data\Finding the mode:
1. Sort out all the numbers.
2. Tally th quanity of each number.
3. The one with the higest quantity is the mode

If there is a group of numbers 1,1,3,4,512,599,994, the mean is found by adding together all those numbers and dividing by seven, or in this case, 302. (I chose the numbers carefully so that it would come out to a whole number) It's your "regular average".

The median is the number in the middle, There are three numbers smaller than four, and three numbers larger, so four is the median.

Although you didn't mention it, the mode is the most common answer. There are two "ones" and only one of anything else, so the mode is one.

The mean is the average... average of 10, 13, 22 is (13+10+22)/3 = 15

The median is the middle number in an ordered set. In the above example the ordered set is 10, 13, 22 and the middle number is 13 (one number below and one number above).

The 3rd "m" word is "mode". The mode is the number that appears most frequently. Consider 11, 15, 12, 11
The mode is 11 (it occurs twice).

mean = average of all numbers. You sum up all the numbers then divide it by how many numbers there are.

median = sort the numbers according to increasing value. The number found in the middle is the median. When two numbers are in the middle, the median is the mean of both numbers

lets say they give you the numbers
4, 5, 5, 7, and 9..
the mean is all of them added together and then divided by the number of numbers you have.
so this one would be 4+5+5+7+9 which = 30
then you divide that by 5 because there are 5 numbers.
so the mean is 6.
and then the median is the middle number of the sequence which in this one it is 5.

To find the MEAN, simply add up the value of the observations and divide by the number of observations.

To find the MEDIAN, you should reorder the values from highest to lowest and know the number of observations. If the number is ODD, divide it by 2, count down by the integrer of the division, and then take the NEXT lower value; it is the median. If the number is EVEN, count down by the integer of the division, take that value and the next lower value, find the average of those two; the result is the median.

Consider the numbers 1 ,12 , 5 , 6 , 2 , 4 , 6
ie 1 , 2 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 6 , 12 when placed in order.
Mean = Sum / No. of numbers = 36 / 6 = 6
Median is middle number of ordered nos. = 5
Hope this helps.

Mean-add all the numbers up and divide by how many there are.

Median-you arrage all the numbers in order and cross off til you get down to one number. If you end up with 2 you simply add them together and divide by two.

its easy...
for mean.. take the sum of all the numbers and divide this sum by the total number...

media is basically the middle number(s) when the numbers are arranged in ascending order..
if the total # of numbers is even.. take the middle two number.
if its odd.. the the number in the centre
