I have had Algebra 1, Alg. 2, geometry, and college algebra in high school with an "A" in all classes; yet I am not sure if I have the background to go straight to calculus without trigonometry. Will it be too much with calculus and chemistry for my freshman year?

I'm rather amazed that you didn't get any trig in the courses that you took in high school. You don't need a tremendous amount of trig for the first semester of calculus (differential), but it would come in handy for the second (integral). Take a look at the text books and see if they are Greek to you; is so, take the trig course. But as one responder wrote, don't pile on courses, especially in your freshman year.

Lot of beginning calculus builds on a trig base. I would take trig first I were you.

Trig is basically identical to precalculus just t a slower pace. you should take pre calc if its available. But I would definately suggest some kind of precursor. But if you think you can keep up by jumping right in more power to you.
