Yawn. . .
Another rant. "Almighty dollar" ... and "don't conserve money" just throws up flags about your confused, and inconsistent, liberal mind.

I am a conservative and I am a biologist. The two are not mutually exclusive. While I believe that we need to protect our environment, I am not in favor of endorsing or acting on bad science just because it makes a good sound bite when some empty headed cleavage rack from hollywood repeats it. Global warming is occuring, however, man has little to no impact on it. It is caused by the change in the output of the sun. Ask a astronomer and he will tell you that all of the planets are experiencing "Global warming". My problem with liberals is that they operate on how they feel about something as opposed to getting the facts. During the pensylvanian period global carbon dioxide was 30 times higher and life did not end, in fact it flourished. as far as education, the constitution made it free and public so that citizens would be better informed and make good choices as a nation. Unfortunately in this age of multimedia, nobody remembers how to pick up a book or do some research. They sit around and wait for someone to tell them how and what to think. Do yourself a favor, turn off the tv and turn on your mind. Quit drinking the cool aid and use your brain for what god intended.

The environment doesn't concern most Americans because they're apathetic about anything except themselves. And the few who do say they care are mostly extremists who really go too far in enforcing their beliefs on others. Kind of the way they hug trees, but they'll kill babies, and they'll protect seals, but don't help a person in need.
On the other hand, I've seen with personal experience, that conservatives don't need to preach environmentalism, because they practice it constantly. Like not throwing their trash on the ground, they instead bag it and throw it away properly. They don't usually smoke, then toss the butt on the ground. They don't drive excessive vehicles for the need they have.
And this idea that conserving has to do with our Constitution, well your idea doesn't hold merit, because Conservatives have always held with practicing the written Constitution, not changing the meaning in court. That is not conserving our laws!

Not true! Real Conservatives have always been at the forefront of environmental issues. You're confusing "Conservatives" with "neo-cons" who believe that the environment is nothing more than a business opportunity and their backwoods, snake-handling puppets who believe they have a devine right to rape the land.
And, let us not forget about most Liberals who go through endless public contortions about the environment for no reason other than to gain social standing or political advantage, while doing absolutely nothing of any real value for the environment.
It was real Conservatives who created the EPA. It is real Conservatives who are actively involved in wildlife management, clean water programs, wetland preservation, etc., and have been since the T Roosevelt Administration

That is a very naive answer.
Can you tell me one time a Democrat actually passed a Binding Bill to cut Pollution?
Hell the only President who got any meaningful reolution thru was almost 40 years ago, when Nixon helped get the EPA going.
I probably do more everyday than most. I quit driving a year ago, and commute on a bicycle and Bus, and I am 47 years old!!!
Just because some folks wring their hands and make pretty speaches, dosn't mean they do anything.
I just laugh when I see the SUV crowd and their "Stop Global Warming" bumper stickers.
Even Gore. The family fortune is from Tobacco, and he sells Carbon Credits to those who choose to pollute.
Great Motto. "Save the environment, but keep smoking and it's OK for you to polute, as long as you buy a Carbon Credit from me".
Us conservatives to every bit as much to help as anyone else...

You mean like how most Liberals are against Sportsman for Hunting? Did I mention that my family and friends consists of Conservation Officers, and Naturalists? Fact is hunting wild game is productive and healthy for the environment such as preventing Chronic Waste Disease, food shortages, and roadside accidents, and can actually promote healthy population.
Conservatives support that, and Liberals do not.
Liberals are more for recycling than Conservatives, but studies also prove that recycling some materials can actually do more harm for the environment.
So, I suspect you didn't do your research well enough, deary.

Compared to who ??
CO2 emissions growth in the US was far ahead of that of the EU-15 from 1990-2000, but from 2000-2004, America's rate of growth in CO2 emissions was eight percentage points lower than from 1995-2000, while the EU-15 saw an increase of 2.3 points.
From 2000-2004, the United States' CO2 emissions growth rate was 2.1%, compared to the EU-15's 4.5%. That happened while the US economy was expanding 38% faster than the economies of the EU-15 while experiencing population growth at twice the rate of the EU-15.
This naturally has led to questions and debate about the merits of a mandatory emissions cap approach (as currently adopted under Kyoto) versus a voluntary approach to emissions reduction (as adopted by the United States.
Seems to me, that shows the US stacks up quite well to the rest of the world.
And it shows that conservative presidents aren't to shabby either.
After all, the clean air act was a republican law.
the EPA was a republican law.

Not here buddy!!
I am a staunch supporter of helping wildlife, and especially our cold-water sheds!! I think there needs to be a stricter code on timbering practices to reduce silt and sedimentation which infiltrates our streams and causes great harm to native fish, Brook Trout in particular, but not just brookies but all forms of life that depend on a good clean source of water. The very same water that comes from the cold-water sheds is the very water that WE drink, so we should do everything possible to keep it clean.
However, yes, it's unfortunate as you say that the timbering corporations are bilking trillions of dollars on our trees, for the wood which we will never actually see any of, it all goes over seas. Also, from the coal industry, but I think it's good that President Bush has enacted clean coal technology as to that aspect and I commend him for it.
But I think our main problem that we face is in the creating of LANDFILLS, landfills are what puts all the harmful waste and poison in to our water system, I think we need to look into the future about alternative ways to manage our waste and not pollute our freshwater streams, this is the most CRITICAL of all I think.
As to your labeling Conservatives as "hypocrites" on environment, I think your making too much of a quick asinine statement there, and that's not a very intelligent perspective to take.
I love God's Creation that He has provided us as His people with, so don't try to label me as a one who does not care about the environment, instead, look at your buddy Al Gore, who drive his own private Jet, and drive his own gas hog SUV.
If you want to help the environment, Join - Trout unlimited, they have a chapter in most of the contiguous 48 states
They run a program that is called Back The Brookie, and they also help to preserve clean suitable water!!
They will tell you, If Brook trout can live in a stream, then it's clean, and that we should keep it that way!!
God bless!!

According to most scientists it is a farce concocted by the leftist doomsdayers who want to impose a socialist government on the free-thinking freedom-loving world.
Oh, and Al Gore is a lying hypocrite.

We're "Conservatives"... We live our lives "green".... Definately concerned with our environment.
Sounds like you're simply angry with those who have more $$ than you....and those aren't any particular political party anymore... Don't generalize ppl...
And I'll bet that you purchase your eggs right out of the grocery store.... Produced by hens who suffer their lives in battery cages.... Those plants producing extreme toxins that are pumped right out into our air......or maybe you get your bacon from the same place... Those pigs who produce your morning breakfast having been fed those chicken excrements....
Wake up... You sound like a fool.....
