OK this is how it started...i got my period a regular one then 2 weeks later i got another period then 1 week later i got another period then another week went by and i got another period just it never stopped. I have been bleeding for about a month straight i made an appointment to see the doctor i missed my appointment by accident then i decided to go to the ER the doctor basicly told me that he wouldnt see me becuse i missed my appointment and how he was to busy to examine me. I cryed in the waiting room he got me a sooner appointment the next day...with the head nurse...she gave me birthcontrol pills to regulate my period...its been over 2 weeks now and im still bleeding heavly and feeling so horable and sick to my stomach the blood is just really red and thin and has not stoped at all or not even slowed down. what should i do? besides make another appointment to see the doctor. ill probly have to wait a whole week!

Sounds like a possible infection.

Make sure you are EARLY to the appointment, and if you can not make the appointment, call in!

As for the ER doctor telling you to take a hike...lodge a complaint with the hospital, and the licensing board! If he chose to not help you because you missed an appointment with a different doctor, he deserves servere censure. If the doctor in the ER was you own OB/GYN doing rounds and refusing you because you missed an appointment at his office earlier the day/the day before, he deserves the censure as much if not more! The worst that should have happened was when you were triaged, you would have been placed towards the back of the list, and had to sit there for a couple of hours.

I sympathise with you. I had the same symptoms in 2004 and it was horrible. There are a lot of conditions that can cause these symptoms. The absolute best thing that you can do is make an appointment with a doctor that specialises in women's problems (an OB-GYN /gynecologist). Do not return to the ER. They are great for car accidents and other emergencies, but tend to not be real empathetic when confronted with chronic problems. A gynecologist will be able to identify what is going on and help you get on the road to recovery. You should make the appointment ASAP because of the length of time that you have been having symptoms and because of the fact that you describe prolonged heavy bleeding and other symptoms. Hope this helps.

I sympathise with you, it is hard when things happen and all you can think is what the bloody hell is happening to me!
I suggest you go back to your doctor, until you do keep taking the pill, it may be that you havnt been taking it for long enough for it to make a difference yet or you may need a higher dosage pill. Dont stress too much, at least you know your definately not pregnant!

i think u def. need to go back to the E.R. it can't b healthy to be losing so much blood.usually, when u hav your period,u only lose a few tablespoons of blood, which your body quickly makes up for,but if it's been going on so long, then u're probably losing too much.maybe that's y u feel so sick?did the nurse say how long it would take for the birth control to start working?
