Well I work at a wonderful grocery store (ok not really) bagging and as a cashier. And today while I was training for my alcohol and tabacco training, they brought some guy into the room. Well apparently he walked out of the store with two carts (over $400 worth of merchendise). His explaination was that he was on the phone with his sick mother and did not realize he did this. Apparently he lost the cellphone so they couldn't check to see if he was actually on the phone with someone. Think he was telling the truth and did not realize he walked out with the two carts, or is he a good for nothing shoplifting liar?

Someone just doesn't walk out with two grocery carts full of groceries. On the phone or not. He never even went through the cashiers.

He's lying. It is very difficult to maneuver two shopping carts. No way could he walk out of the store without realizing what he was doing. How "convenient" that he "lost" the cell phone. If he was using it, when he left the store allegedly talking to his poor sick mother, then why did no one else "find" it. Was he arrested? Think he was caught red-handed, with two shopping carts and his lies. Witnesses?

I don't know to be honest. But, you really have to give him the benefit of the doubt. The law does, in Canada atleast. What if he was on the phone with his mother, you never know. Let it slide, it's not your personal groceries.
