at 1.024. I checked my water and everything is good except Nitrate which was at 10. Not sure why my yellow tang is shedding? Now his eyes are cloudy. I just did a water change. Please advise what I need to do next!

Tangs seem to be more sensitive to low oxygen and more susectpible to diseases and parasites than a lot of marine fish. Your salinity and nitrite appear to be good, but you you know the ammonia, nitrite, or pH in your tank? Or temperature? These may be off as well.

Did this just occur after the water change? If you use tapwater, did you add chemicals to remove chlorine/chloramine? Or do you let the water sit overnight? If you let it sit, and your water supplier uses chloramine, this won't be removed unless you add a conditioner made specifically for this purpose. If the temperature of the water was off, and particularly if it was higher, warm water doesn't hold as much oxygen as cool. You can help this somewhat by turning off tank lights and lowering the heater to 76o. If you have a spare airstone or powerhead, this can also provide some additional dissolved oxygen.

If this was starting before the water change, I would suspect a bacterial or parasite problem. The "shedding" you see may actually be a shedding of excess mucuc from the slime coat the fish will produce to keep parasites from attaching. See this link for some of the more common disorders of marine fish - I would tend to suspect Brooklynella, which is fast-acting and easily fatal, but only you can see the fish to know if the symptoms are what your fish is showing: http://home2.pacific.net.ph/~sweetyummy42/disease.html

If you click on the names of the disorders in red, you'll bring up a link with treatment info. I would advise in a case such as this that you stick with one of the proven remedies, not try one of the supposed "miracule cures" being thrown around. There are a lot of companies trying to make money sell ing the lastest "miracle" but when tested by independent sources, most don't live up to their claims: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/cryptnoncures.htm

I don't know, but isn't it supposed to be salinity, not sanity?
