Abuse is abuse regardless!

In my eyes if you can abuse an animal, you can abuse a child.

I really shouldn't ask these questions heh.

Yes you should ask these questions. There are few enough people that stand up for animal rights. I think the same penalties should apply to those who abuse animals as those who abuse children. A misdemeanor fine is not enough to curtail the abuse animals suffer. A star for you.

I don't think you should abuse any living thing but I don't think it's as bad to abuse an animal as it is to abuse a child. Again, I do NOT agree with abusing animals! I'm just saying our children are more important and come before pets.

You're right, abuse is abuse. I would not want to be a part of any person who would do horrible things, like abusing anything. They're not right in the head, and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

I agree with you. Abusing a creature is wrong, especially if it is weaker than you or dependent on you. Even if it weren't weaker, to use animals in sport fights or some other such thing turns my stomach. My inner light tells me it is wrong. The golden rule is not a religious tenet.....it works across the board. I do believe also that what you give, you will get.

Abuse of an innocent is the worst thing I can think of no matter what it is, but the abuse of a child is especially horrendous!

No, hurting the helpless of one's own species is worse... however, your second point is right on the money... anyone who could harm a helpless animal, is more likely than not, able to harm a child (it's a marker of serial killers, for example).

I abhor the mistreatment of animals, but I do not elevate their status to the same level as human beings...

That's my academic argument, but anyone who could torture or abuse an animal should have a special place in hell to go to.

Peace

Abuse of an animal is usually a harbinger of further abuse!

Yes I do. If a person abuses any animal or child, God forbid, they are a inhumane and an uncaring person. It makes me shiver just to think that some one could be that cruel.

No. I do think it is wrong to abuse animals but humans are more important than animals. It is worse to abuse a baby or a child.
