How do you justify being pro-life as well as being supportive of the death penalty?

Just curious to see how one could be against ending life in one situation and support ending life in another. Thoughts?

My point was this (to quote Dr. Seuss): "A person's a person, no matter how small."
Ending a life is ending a life. I don't believe humans have any authority to end a life, period.
I am a conservative, Christian woman who reached this conclusion entirely on my own. I don't find it "hard to understand;" I was just curious as to what the reasoning was as I never ventured down that path of the innocent vs. guilty argument.

Pro life is loosely referred to those admonishing the use of abortion but it also covers many other facets of life as you pointed out in your question.Generically the dissidence toward abortion is because that new life hasn't had a chance to survive and grow to be a responsable adult,the latter is usually reserved for those that have squandered the life they were given by a gross act of misconduct.
True,all are born into sin(if that is what you believe)but each person is held accountable for their life and their actions and will be judged accordingly.We should try to muddle our way through life causing as little problems as possible while helping those that need it.
That is why it is important to regard the life of an infant and try to nurture it to become a productive contributer to society and not grow up to be a blemish on mankind as a whole.The moment we start to diminish the importance of a life is the moment that decadence and irreverance toward fellow man will follow.

Well, Pro-Life is viewed as preventing legalized murder.
Death penalty is viewd as Killing the Killer.
Same could go the other way.
Why would some one support saving the life of a Murderer. Then use the right to choose as a reason to kill an unborn innocent child.

Not saying which is right, just what people use as their reasoning.
And it has nothing to do with stopping anyones rights or religious fanatics.
I don't go to church, yet I really dislike people using abortion as post pregnancy birth control. But not everything is black and white.
But honestly, shouldn't the right to choose, include the right to use a condom as Pre-Pregnancy birth control too?

well i look at it like this that baby hasn't had a chance yet it completely helpless and innocent it hasn't been corrupted by bad parents or a bad neighborhood Darwin's b/s hasn't reared its ugly head. (unless its a spawn of Lucifer but that's a whole nether question lol) but the pederist/murderer or whatever is damaged goods hes either gonna get out one day and do it again or live a miserable worthless life some people aren't capable of or refuse to interact with society and are a danger to others u cant banish um to the frontiers like u used to so they have to b in jail or taking care of the old dark age way even if u put them in jail they could kill or corrupt someone who has a chance to be reformed. its better just to be cruel for a split second and do a lifetime of good its barbaric but right know that the world we live in so we got to suck it up for the good of the group or they can stay at your house i say ill do a Lil evil for a lot of good

I personally don't believe in an abortion of any kind.. even if someone was raped and got pregnant from that.. that baby is still half yours regardless of the pain that you went through with it.. you have the choice to give it up to someone who wants it if you don't..even if the pregnancy is juss unplanned..

the death penalty is for assholes the deserve to die.. the way i see it they are on death row for a reason.. they deserve to be killed for the crimes they have committed.. whereas a baby no matter how young.. 9 weeks or 9 months.. had no choice in its conception.. they cant defend themselves and theyre completely innocent regardless of how they got there.. criminals on the other hand chose to do wat they did.. (i feel like im preaching but thats just wat i believe)

A reason I could think of is that someone who would be in this situation has done wrong to our society in some way and deserves a punishment. An innocent child hasn't done anything wrong and doesn't deserve to die. I just think in general, prison has become too enjoyable and isn't even considered much of a punishment. Plus, money is being taken out of my pay to support these criminals.

The ending of the baby's life is the murder of an innocent. The execution of a murder, child molester, or rapist is not murder but a sanitary measure like taking out the trash. These people have demonstrated they will not live within our culture's norms and our laws. It is not murder to execute them it is merely the unpleasant step necessary to secure my families safety. The murder of a baby is none of these things. Merely the riding oneself of the consequences of not being a responsible human being! Thank you very much for your time! It comes down to this. An unborn child has not harmed anyone, they have commited no sin. They deserve a chance. A person on death row is a sick individual, chances are good they have seriously huty many people if not kill them often in a sick sort of way.

A Baby is Innocent,a Murder is not. Even a murder has years to prove otherwise and with appeals it takes sometimes 20 years to carry out the sentence.

A Baby cannot prove why he or she should be found innocent.They don't have 20 years.

One is innocent and one is not. I would support the right of women to have an abortion in the first trimester though. It should be a law, if it can be passed, and not a ridiculous interpretation of privacy though.

Easy I believe that babies have not harmed anyone whereas a person facing execution has by his choice and acts forfeited his own life.I believe it should be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt and applied swiftly.
