trying to find a place to take the family for a vacation (domestic USA). I have heard about Gulf Shores Alabama. Has anyone been there and can you give me some insight???? Many thanks

I've lived there for over two years now, almost three, and I used to vacation here once a month.
The best places to go are romar beach (which is in orange beach), the track, Waterville's waterpark, if you want souvineers go to souvineer city, also there is a beach at perdido pass after you drive over the bridge (not the bridge over the canal) that has a piling that touches the beach and goes into the ocean that always has a ladder and you can jump into the ocean. You should eat at Live Bait, Hazels, San Roc Cay Diner (San Roc Cay also has a marina and other stuff), or Lulu's.
Get a boogie-board before you go to any beaches. It's like a surf-board but you lay on it don't stand on it.
P.S. LuLu's has good burgers, and has good atmosphere, But almost all of the diners have good atmosphere.

Gulf Shores is an excellent place to go for vacation! I have been there plenty of times and have loved it every single time. Great shopping, resturants, and entertainment. Trust me...you wont go wrong with Gulf Shores, AL.

I lived there for about 5 years. It has beatiful beaches and lots of shopping around the town and near by town of Foley. There is a pretty good night life. They have a huge water park called Waterville USA. They have great deep sea fishing trips. I went on one for about 40 bucks and caught plenty. Fort Morgan is a pretty cool place to visit. There is also a ferry that connects Fort Morgan to Mobile. You will find plenty to do there.

I have been there plenty of times before. It never gets old. It's a great place for kids and/or adults. Fun for all. The beaches are great. Hotels are very nice. When I was there we definetly couldn't complain about the weather. The local restaurants are fantastic. We had great service. We went Go-Karting one day, went to a water park one day. We had a great time!

I have been there many times and LOVE it! There are great beaches, shopping, a water park, excellent local restaurants. All in all a great time!
