On the truth?
Even under oath they are lying!

Is that why Bush is offering his administration
to testify but not under oath...that way they can
lie without being caught in their lies?

They have declared war on the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, Separation of Church and State, Checks and Balances, The division of the Branches of the Government (Apparently we have a 5th branch that only Cheney is in!) and every law that applies to Bush, His Administration, His Backers and any of his buddies.

Everyone need to write their Congressman/woman and tell them we want them to prosecute anyone who lies under oath, And if the evidence shows anyone on Capitol Hill has committed crimes they need to serve time. We need to show them they are not above our laws! You can e-mail your Congressman/woman. To look them up, look here

First, Bush is not the first President to exert a claim of Executive Privilege to protect his advisers. Although, I will admit that it is my opinion that if they have nothing to hide there should not be any reason not to testify.

Second, you can claim evidence that 2 officials in the administration have lied under oath. These being Libby and Gonzales. Hardly what I would call a war on the truth.

Whenever anyone is willing to testify, but doesn't want to be placed under oath it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I start wondering what they are trying to hide, but this does not constitute evidence of wrong doing, merely a suspicion of such.

gramma_arlene: A lie is a lie. There is no difference. I am so sick of Bush haters defending Clinton. The man violated the trust of the American people and his oath of office. This is every bit as serious as the lack of credibility you people allege against the Bush administration. The circumstances differ to be sure, but again lying is lying no matter who is doing it and you cannot trust anything from a person who does such. No matter how minor you may consider the offense to be it calls everything they ever say into question. If you want to believe Bush lied that is your choice, but your credibility suffers when you defend one liar while trying to destroy another. Selective outrage does not benefit the interests of anyone.

Bush is offering to allow people to testify without being under oath because he is defending the seperation of powers. The executive branch does not answer to congress, congress does not answer to the president, and the judicial branch doesent answer to either of them. They are CO-EQUAL branches. That is how the constitution set them up. The remarks by the democrats in congress that the administration has to answer to them about decisions that are constitutionally theirs to make is rediculous. The democrats know that a president cannot allow such a power grab to be allowed to go unchallenged. It is all political manuvering intended to weaken the presidency. The fact is that the firings that occured in the justice department were prefectly legitimate. Those men serve at the will of the president and can be replaced for any or no reason at any time. Historically this changing of the guard has occured with the change of party in the white house. Just more propaganda. Do youself a favor, take a civics course or two.

By the way bruce, there were 22 reasons cited in the authorization to use force in Iraq that was passed by the congress. Of those 22 reasons only the WMD's havent been found. And on July 9, 2007, my brother was killed in Afganistan. No president, congressman, american or ally fired the shot that killed him. It was terrorists that shot him and if I had the chance I would return the favor.

Obviously the only reason bush doesn't want his aides testifying under oath is because they can be held in comtempt of Congress if they are found to be covering up information.

Things are not going well for them. Congress wants Rove and Myers to testify--under oath and with a transcript so what they say will count. It's about time Congress started exercising some oversight.

On the truth, and on the Constitution, and on the concept of balance of power between the branches.

But Congress is no better. The Congressional bill to block the sentence of Ramos and Campeon [link below] makes a mockery of the legal system, and is a direct slap in the face to the Courts.

So, none of the other branches are willing to respect the powers of the others. Which means, we're finally succeeded in breaking 230 years of constitutional law.

Um...duh! Unless someone found those Weapons of Mass Destruction while I wasn't looking. This is the most dishonest, psycotic bunch of liars I have ever seen in the White House. Imagine, concocting a reason to go to war so that we can spend hundreds of billions of dollars and kill American soldiers. Why? They are f'ing nuts!

This administration is terrified of the truth.....about important things that really matter, like war, etc....And, to the Republicans I say, please don't bring up Clinton who lied about his sex life. Big difference! Besides, who among you have not a single thing to hide about your own sex life? Are you a hypocrite...or, would you lie and deny it?

The Democrats are worse. They're blood sucking conceited bast*rds trying to take over the world. They have more than their fair share of lies. "I did not sleep with that woman," from lole Clinton. Lied his way right out of saying, "Yes Mr-sir-judge-man, she did give me a a bl*w j*b in the oval office, and we did have sex on that desk." I mean, how much worse can you get. Now one of their little puppets, Al Gore, is out spreading the word on how to stop "global warming." Meanwhile, he drives a fleet of SUVs, racks up a huge electric bill, and eats Omaha steaks made from, you guessed it, the dreaded methan emitting cows. Now they're coming up with second-hand obesity.... they're crazy and stupid enough for the whole country...
