Someone's not telling the truth. Those 3 holes indicate it might have been fired from 10 yard away according to that story. Which is much closer than previously they led us to believe.

"The doctors — whose names were blacked out — said that the bullet holes were so close together that it appeared the Army Ranger was cut down by an M-16 fired from a mere 10 yards or so away."

"The chaplain said that O'Neal told him he was hugging the ground at Tillman's side, "crying out to God, help us. And Tillman says to him, `Would you shut your (expletive) mouth? God's not going to help you; you need to do something for yourself, you sniveling ..." "

I will say this: the news report I heard he was hit with .50 caliber machine gun fire. Do you know what a .50 caliber is? No one would be able to identify his body if hit with one .50 caliber bullet. The bullet would literally tear off his entire head with one shot. There's no way they would be able to see three rounds even from a 7.6 in a group of 1.5 inches so, your facts are way off base Pal.
And, he was not on a ridge with others, the maps show him in a ravine by himself, the fighting was over and he stepped out where they were shooting, he should never have did what he did, being a trained Ranger.

This is pretty well documented. Tillman and some of his team and Afghan troops were on a ridge across from a group of Americans. They saw them as rival fighters and opened fire. Tillman stood up and tried to draw their attention as a friendly. He was shot and killed as he stood making an easy target of himself. Unfortunate act and probably a young soldier who over reacted.
