and has anyone ever attempted to remain with their eyes open while sneezing and succeeded?

yes jevi8, i've heard that the heart stops when you sneeze, idk if it's true; since a sneeze is so quick, it might as well be the space between heartbeats

cause we are scared that our eyes will pop out, but i was on answers a few weeks ago and there way a girl that said that she could sneeze with her eyes open she just had to train herself, so while she may do it, i'll just stick with the original closing my eyes i prefer to be safe.

Our eye muscles are not strong enough to counteract the force produced by a sneeze.

i think its a natural reflex and if you didnt something would go wrong with your body. just like why do we keep breathing even though we are sleep thats just how our body works. but i can tell you that my dog hasnt sneezed with its eyes open...that i know of anyway lol

Just a reflex but really and truly the force is there that you gotta close your eyes. Just like if a bee stung you. Hurts so bad that you shut your eyes and say S****.!!!!! BTW if I left my eyes open I would absolutely pee all over my self..

It's impossible.
You close your eyes when you sneeze to keep your eyeballs from popping out. The pressure behind your eyes could make them burst out of the sockets when you sneeze...it's your body's way of naturally maintaining itself. Like you can't breathe and swallow at the same time...similar phenomenon. I rock.

sometimes I bust an ovary and I was told your whole body stops the split second you sneeze

I tried to keep my eyes open and it hurt, i don't know if it was a one time thing but i never tried it again.

I dunno...I've often wondered about that. I've attempted to keep my eyes open, but I've never succeeded. My eyes always closed.
