Someone, if not you, might have started the self timer, which caused the TV to turn it off.
I think that could be the only reason, if there was no power failure causing it to turn off.

Ummm. My tv does it all the time, dont worry im not sure what it is but the cable company told me its nothing to worry about.

Its probably due to overheating? Perhaps its turned on too long... Well, computers auto shut down when overheated too to prevent damage. :)
