Most common causes: a virus or a bacteria. If it is a bacteria, and it is really bad (and for various days) antibiotics could help. See a doctor, in that case.

well, it can be several things. 1) a dramatic change in diet, like suddenly start eating more roughage than normal, 2) undercooked meat which contains salmonella. thats a baddie. 3) alergic reaction. intestinal distress is a response to a food allergy. really, if you want a more approximate answer, i need more info.
