if he smiles at you then there must be some degree of liking there... but, if you're fishing for an answer if he likes you to be his girl, there isn't much information that you provided.

ask him if he likes you.

Does he like you?
Don't know...if you are cute (we'll assume "yes"), he might be attracted to you.

In any case...consider it this way - allergies can be lethal. Your dog is "part" of you. Even right out of the shower, with all surfaces scrubbed til it glows a nice rosy glow...not an allergen in sight. Then you grab a towel...allergen city! He kisses your cheek, and immediately starts swelling-up in his face and throat, he can no longer breathe...

That being the ultimate (lethal) outcome. Having tossed that out, his reaction is likely going to be some hives, and some mild swelling.

Unless you drop the dog, do you really want to risk putting his health at risk? A single encounter (or periodic encounters) are over and done with shortly after the encounter ends. However, continued exposure to an allergin can cause more damage to the body.

I'm not trying to be mean, but this is sounding like an Ego thing...he's a teen boy, so the chances a good that he will like you. But, let him go and find a guy that likes dogs and has no allergies. Safer for eveyone that way.

Yes, he likely is shy. I am too. I can talk with a cute/beautiful/ sexy/etc woman with no problems...until it comes to the moment of truth and asking her out. Plays hob with the ol' Social Life, but no real complaints. :D
