Newspapers. In general, the time to tell the stories on television is much tighter than the space to tell the same stories in the newspaper.

Newspapers. They are able to get the whole day and night of news into one component. There is more room for a lot more stories - if they don't fit in the normal width of the paper more pages get added. There is the ability to put little short articles in, feature articles, etc.

Tv news is restricted by time. There is usually only half an hour to an hour. Sure the bulk of that is news items but room has to be made for the weather and sport and ad breaks. By the time the news comes on it can be old news because newspapers are now able to make editions online etc.

The newspapers. Reading the news is far better for information because you retain a heck of a lot more than what is whizzing by your ears from the television. People have more time to read the newspapers, they can carry it on the train to work put it aside till lunch, then read on the way home, and finish off what wasn't read after supper. The editors and staff of a paper know that and have ample room to print a heck of a lot more news, sports, entertainment, articles, weather, and health, science, international, national,& local news as well.
Can't carry a television around like that!

It depends. Something like PBS News Hour do offer indept analysis and interviews. Core information are really not much different from TV to newspapers, but its details. Sometimes TV offer more and some times newspapers offer more of it.
