Absolutely normal. Your body had higher elevations of hormones pregnant!-While you are pregnant you don't loose very much of your hair due to to the increase of hormones! After birth your hormones levels drop and you will start to "shed". Its not fun- and looks like TUNS of hair- yet its completely normal and you WILL not go bald!
Give or take a few weeks to a few months and it will be done! Sometimes you'll have more than you will on other days-
Before I had my own two children and had similar experiences with this, my Sister who just had my neice called me- HYSTERICAL crying, telling me she was going Bald. Huge chunks of hair were coming out while she was taking a shower. She came over, I assured her she was not bald- and you couldn't tell she had lost any hair- and she herself found out that it was normal! =)
Good Luck!

Yes, it's totally normal. When we're pregnant, our hair gets thicker and stays in. Hormones, you know. After pregnancy, the hormones fluctuate again, and it can affect a number of women in the hair department. I experienced some hair loss. Not major, but it was more so right after pregnancy. I would take pre-natal or another multi-vitamin (which you still need to do if you are breastfeeding anyway). That helps the hair and nails get thicker. You might also want to try mane and tale shampoo as an extra help.
Good luck!

It happens for 2 reasons, the hormone changes cause you to have hair fall out, but you can also have even more then normal from lack of protein in your hair from being pregnant, which causes breakage that can break right at the scalp. You will know if it is from breakage when you have new hair growth at the scalp and feel little prickly new hairs. There are treatments that can help put the protein back in your hair, or you have to wait till it grows out and is healthy again.

yes, it's normal for some women to lose hair after giving birth. from what i've read, and heard it is due to hormone changes.
i'm not sure what can be done about it other than checking with your doctor - maybe he, or she would put you on hormone replacement, or some sort of hormone therapy. at any rate, i think the hair loss is temporary, and does grow back normally.

Yes it is normal. During your pregnancy your hormones cause you to grow and keep alot of hair. Then when you give birth and your hormones are back to normal, the hair falls out. It happened to me with all 3 of my pregnancies.

Yes. It happened to my wife. It is fairly common and the hair will come back after a month or 2. You might talk to the doc to see if you can get your hormones back in whack, or just wait it out. Don't sweat it.

I lost hair like crazy after my boys were born... not so much with my daughter. Are you breastfeeding?? Just curious because the hairloss seemed to be linked with breastfeeding to me... but then it could be a coincidence. Anyways... yes it's normal and no you won't go bald!

Definitely, your hormones are all out of whack and it will take some time before everything goes back to normal. Make sure you are taking a vitamin so your body is not deficient in anything.

yes it's normal, your body produces a hormone while you are pregnant that keeps you from loseing the nornal hairs you shed. it will stop within a couple of months well short of baldness. after I had my son I shedded more then a cat.

it wont stop until the cells that formed are gone. About 2 yrs. when you are pregnant the hormones create more hair particles in your scalp and everywhere, why???, i do not know. But you will loose hair until they are all gone and you were the same before you were pregnant.
