Shout works well on blood. Make sure you saturate the spot.. let it sit for a few min.. then rub vigorously. Repeat if necessary.. Cold water will help too..do NOT dry the sheets until you have removed the blood. If they sheets are white you can try bleach too. Some of the "oxy" products work well also but I find you really have to catch a "fresh" stain for those to work well.
Good luck!

All of the other answers are accurate and will work, unless the blood is menustral. It will not come out entirely, being darker than regular blood, so your best bet after you've cleaned the sheets to the best of your ability is to either dye them or throw them away. Trust me--I worked in a hotel laundry room and our most powerful cleaners wouldn't take it out.

ok, this is beyond creepy/strange, but i PROMISE you , it works. If it is your blood---you can spit on it then kinda rub the stained parts together and it will literally disolve before your eyes (i'd still pre-treat, then wash in cold)---the reason for this is:
The enzymes in your saliva are genetically designed to break down the enzymes in your blood. You cant do this if it is someone elses blood though.
NO I'M NOT A FREAK< IT REALLY WORKS
or, if it's someone else's blood, use shout, really work in well, wash in cold DO NOT DRY until the stain washes out (drying will 'set' the stain)

1) Sponge the stain lightly with a solution of equal parts ammonia and water.
2)Apply a laundry pre-treatment, such as stain remover or detergent.
3)Launder as usual.
4)Air dry

Dreft stain remover works well, as does Shout and OxiClean. If you use the dreft of shout, MAKE SURE you keep the spot(s) damp with it and let it sit out for awhile to loosen the stain before you wash it.

Blood or any other stubborn stain will come out with toothpaste. Just dab some toothpaste on the stain and use and old brush to scrub the stain with.

The best way to get blood out of anything is to use peroxide full strength.
