Los Angeles :-)
To be an actor on a Disney show you need to have an agent. To get an agent you need to have serious training and experience which means making a real commitment to your career at a very early age. That also means having a very supportive and dedicated family as well. They have to put their lives on hold for your career because most Disney shows tape in Los Angeles, if you don’t live there you’ll have to move or one of your parents will have to be willing to live there with you while you audition for shows and hope that you get something and if you do, then you have to stay there.
Disney kids are triple threats. They sing, act, and dance and they do all three very well. If you’re not already in classes for all three disciplines, you better get a move on! You also need to have experience… a resume with real credits. You can start with local theatres, student films, etc. but eventually if you’re going to be taken seriously you have to start booking at least under 5’s, guest spots, etc. and work your way up to leads. Once you have a few roles under your belt an agent may consider taking you on.
Good luck

Hi there,
The first thing that comes to mind after reading your question is, "Are you ready to audition for Disney?". The reason I ask is because there I have entertained an onslaught of questions recently by folks asking the same question. It seems that Disney is the place everyone wants to be.
Having said that, you know that the people already acting on Disney Channel are trained professionals. Are you? If so, then I have a suggestion for you. There are many actors who are very, very good, but don't get seen and don't get a chance to audition for the casting directors they really want to audition for, because they don't have the business skills they need to be successful. And so, their talent goes unnoticed. What a shame. Really. I have a friend who was like that for a long time and now she is beginning to come around.
Your number one priority should be getting some good, solid acting training. It's not just about being the right type, it's also, and more importantly about your acting skill. But make sure you have an opinion about what you are looking for in a school and in a teacher. Click here to see what some of your criteria could be.
In the long-term, and if you really want to be acting on Disney Channel, you will want to develop yourself, study the industry and study your acting craft.
Go to this link and see some of the issues actors often have before they even get close to working at all as actors, much less acting on Disney Channel: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com
I’ll send you to this page to see what it can be like to be an actor looking for work. This could be typical day, like it was once for me: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/working_as_an_actor.html
Are you ready to do that day after day after day until you get what you want?
This question comes up multiple times daily. If you do a search here on answers you will see other answers to this question. I answer this question a lot and so instead of writing the same or similar answers, I have created a 28-page ebooklet that answers pretty thoroughly your question.
Just go to http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html , sign in on the right side of the page and you can download it for free. It's called: What It Takes To Become An Actor.
The second resource you might want to have a look at is this page: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/how_to_get_an_agent.html . It takes you through a process that I used to get two agents and a personal manager in a short period of time.
I say this to let you know that before you get close to Disney, you will have a lot of work to do and a lot of base to build. That is unless you are a natural born, exceptional talent. Then maybe not.
So in summary, it is possible to get to Disney. It is. But you will have to position yourself for success. To do that you need to get started quickly and with purpose!
Go to the link below and download a free copy of a 36-page ebook called: What It Takes To Become An Actor. Just go there, sign in on the upper right-hand corner and you will have access to the ebook, that you can then save to your computer if you want.
Good luck!
Tony

You have probably found the best place in the world to get an answer to your question. This is asked here several times a day. Do a search and you'll find hundreds of answers. Unfortunately they are not what you want to hear. Sorry kid.
But the good news is you can act in school and in kids theater groups all you want and still get to have all of the fun of acting.
