Personally, I think they were ALL fantastic. But a few people I know have a favorite for some reason. I was just wondering if there are more ppl who thin like that.
For me the third and last book stood up. But I still can't say that I like those two better than the other books.

I would agree with you, the third book was my favorite, but the seventh had so much going on in it;

I really liked the third book, but I am not sure I could explain why. Probably the whole Harry finding family.

I liked the third the best because I think it was the happiest. Harry wasn't fighting Voldemort the entire time and nobody is disappearing, dying, or being petrified. And there is a happy ending for Harry, him finding Sirius, and not the over loom of 'Oh yeah, we have that Voldemort problem to worry about..'

Unfortunately I was not able to read the books until now. I am almost done with the first one and I'm loving it. I will be able to tell you which is my favorite in about 6 months. I loved all the movies though!

3rd, 5th, and 7th. I was very tense through most of book 7 but the ending was just.... too cool, it was profound and sublime and exciting all at once. But you're right, the whole series together is a very awesome, well-thought out story.
