I reside in Georgia. My landlord has some tenants that are telling him that they have warrants out for some of my family members and friends and in which I can't invite them over to my home for anything! My sons first birthday is coming up and we are going to invite them over no matter what! I have already checked with civil court to make sure these friends and family members do not have any warrants on them, in which they don't, What rights do I have? Isn't this discrimination? My landlord also said that he can't tell me what guest I can and can't have over because he don't have any warrants on anyone. Which these tenants have made him believe they really do have warrants. Also when we first moved in he had said they couldn't come over but he told them that he never said that! I think my landlord is coo coo and nutty!! What should I do? I am scared he will kick us out if we do but that is a simple price I am willing to pay for my child to have a birthday party AT HOME!!

These tenants that are saying this don't have problems with us it is just some of my family members use to be real good friends I mean real good friends the two women were like messing around and both husbands knew it well one day these tenants asked about having a "foursome" well my family wasn't going for that and ever since then their has been this conflict between them and they decided I guess it would be fun to add us to it. Now get this they are church going people and put their kids on a pedastle and believe everything their children say. Which their eldest claimed different guys have rapped her none to which are my family. Which the doctor said she has had sex but not forced makes it even more crazy anyways my sister had to testify against them and the only thing she said was she picked up kids from school but that makes her have a warrant along with her husband and child? Which I do not have a lease or an agreement her with the landlord, do I still have rights as a tenant?

If these "tenants" have claimed warrants,
(or orders of protection?), that don't exist, to your landlord, you probably have grounds for a civil suit.
Can you confront them & say 'If this doesn't stop, I can make legal touble over it.` or is there more to the situation?

I am so sorry! You need to go to the bookstore ASAP and get a book called "Tenant's Rights" (by Nolo Press) Every bookstore should have one. How'd would your NEIGHBORS know anything about your private life? This is total discrimination and you have EVERY right to fight it. Usually only the POLICE issue warrants; NOT ordinary people. I think your landlord is NUTS. Get that book NOW. It will tell you your rights and what your landlord can and cannot do. It helped me out a LOT in my last apartment. He might be able to kick you out, but not for what's happening. You need to get some legal counseling on this, it might cost a bit of money, but you'd get this mess out of your life. I think your neighbors are playing games with you. Good luck!
