Last time I checked the Mazda 6 was made in the states and the V6 was a Ford engine while the 4 cylinder was a Japanese Mazda part. The Ford Focus which is build on the Mazda 6 platform is made in Mexico. Its possible that some of the Mazda 6 models are pure Japanese though.

Its got a Ford V6 and a Mazda I4 like the above poster said.
He is thinking of the Ford Fusion not the Focus. The Mazda3 shares parts with the European Focus but not the American Focus.
