what model? your being VERY general. A $600 sony isnt going to give you the same performance as a $2000 mac, and vice versa. What do you want to do with it? Is it for school/office, or is it for video and media stuff? Games? How much will you spend?

I like ASUS. Most of them just buy their motherboards from ASUS.
