Local and state codes have changed in a variety of ways - far too numerous to mention. But if you look at the code annotations, which are on every town and the state website, you'll see the changes noted by date - something very important, since construction prior to the change may not conform with the changed code, but, nonetheless, does not violate it, because the code that applies to that construction is the code in place at the time of construction.
