Not only will the presitge of having the degree hanging up on the wall help to impress (this might be the one thing that puts the future client over the edge when choosing you) but you will also learn a great deal while getting your degree. I'm doing the same thing right now myself. I'm finishing my degree this year and already using my contacts from school and alumni to get my first set of leads. I don't see how you can go wrong getting your degree.

People skills added to knowledge of business + perseverence and hard work = a good mix.

It's not going to help to have the letters behind your name, but if you go to learn to be good at business then it will help tremendously.
