In books and movies there are main characters, and then everyone else in the story. In the Bible, a great deal is told about some people's lives, and nothing about others, like Daniel. I wonder if he knew his life would be regarded as important or not at the time? I used to think I would be a main character in the history of this world in some way. Now it seems more like I'm a bit player or an extra on the set. Do main characters know they are, or would that be arrogant on their part?

I don't want to be famous. It wouldn't matter if no one but me and God knew, but I would like to have done something that truly mattered in life. I'm just a housewife. Is it bad to want this?

I would say so because I have lead such an interesting event filled life. A great deal of tragedy and sadness but joy and happiness as well. I am passionate about the work I do and have received much satisfaction out of the process.

Your not in a movie, this is real life. In the bible the "Main Character" was God. (Who is nothing like us) The only "Main character" you are in this world is in your own existence. Unless you have children, or something that looks up to you. Then..you are the main character of a few other's lives (until they stop depending on you). But sadly, in today's reality no one has a chance to be a main character. There is no universal person that everyone knows. There is no being greater than another (yes, even celebrities are normal people) so therefore, there are no main characters.

Well really if the life of someone, or anyone was like a book or movie then they would be and know they are the main characters, all the drama or good things happening...all kinds of events. I wouldn't want to be the main character because I think there would be too many lines in the script. lol

First of all, if I made it into a book like The Bible, it wouldn't matter if I only received one little blurb, I would definitely be important and a main character. I really don't think those in the past really regarded what they did as if to gain the glory. I believe they do for someone else's glory and not necessarily for theirs. NOW...in today's world, I believe that we (general public) do things to gain fame, anything for thirty seconds of fame!

History will never know me.
Because I do my job in the dark quietly.
History will never remember me.
Because I am on no stage to be seen.
And
History will not judge me.
Because no one knew I was here until I was gone.
Despite the depressing words above, we all see our lives as making a difference to someone. As a housewife, remember, you ARE the main character to someone in your life be it your kids or husband.
There is no such thing as "just a housewife".

Depends on how you look at it. You could be a big deal in your family or city or even state. Maybe not the whole world. i don't think people know they are going to be, mainly because its everyone else who makes them the main character.

Main characters don't happen, they study hard in their chosen fields and in interpersonal relationships, and then apply what they learn.
To get what Andy Wharhol called "15 minutes of fame", you have to put your self in the right spot at the right time.
Becoming a main character will require you to market yourself properly.

You should read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" sometime. It's a novel in which "prime movers" of the world, the most rational and reasonable among us, sorta go on strike and the world deteriorates. You bet "main characters" know who they are. And, if you haven't noticed, they are exiting the world stage in droves, for pretty much the same reasons as Rand developed in her novel.

in ways you are the main character, when you think of things they most likley involve you and your the one who is thinking them not someone elses. in your life you are the main character, but best friends, close relatives, and etc. become a big part of your life and may also become a main character in your life.
